HEAVY DUTY UPBV3 TENSION TRANSDUCERS
(December 13, 2000 Rochester, NH, USA) Dover Flexo Electronics,
Inc. introduces its largest, most robust tension transducer to date (13.5"
x 4.5" x 5.8"; 30 lbs). The new model UPBV3* heavy-duty transducer
measures process web tension accurately in heavy-duty industrial winding
and converting applications. The UPBV3 tension transducer, used in a pair,
is secured one on each side of the machine frame under pillow blocks that
hold a dead-shaft or live-shaft idler roll. The UPBV3 pair senses tension
on the idler roll as the web passes over it.
The UPBV3 was developed for applications where the main force component
is perpendicular to the top-plate. It is available with load ratings
up to 5000 pounds (22250 N) and is overload protected to 15,000 pounds.
Designed to be virtually maintenance-free, the UPBV3 transducer is constructed
of corrosion-resistant stainless steel and aluminum and is lifetime-lubricated.
The UPBV3's reliability is guaranteed by DFE's standard 5 Year Product
Warranty.
*The name UPBV3 comes from the device's three primary attributes. "UPB" denotes the fact that the transducer mounts Under the Pillow Blocks which support each idler roll end; "V" indicates that the unit is sensitive to loads applied mostly perpendicular to the top-plate; and "3" represents size 3, the largest in a series.
