Pneumatic Brake Controller

For pneumatic brake applications that do not require automated closed-loop control Dover Flexo Electronics, Inc. (DFE), manufacturer of tension measurment and control equipment, introduces a robust, manual pneumatic controller.

Operating on 0-100 psi filtered shop air, the controller is an all-pneumatic device with no electrical components. Its three pneumatic solenoids channel air flow to one, two or three brakes or brake cylinders. Two-position toggle switches are used to turn each output channel on and off. An adjustable regulator knob and air pressure gage on the controller's front panel let the machine operator change the output pressure to a desired level in real time.

"The goal was to provide customers with an inexpensive, easy-to-use pneumatic controller for open-loop unwind applications. The controller can easily be modified to include any number of switches for more or fewer pneumatic outputs," comments Keith Chambers, DFE's Chief Mechanical Engineer.
