Aluminum Idler RollsIf you’re planning to install shaft-end transducers at a new position in your machine’s web path, maybe you’d like to save time and trouble by ordering a dead-shaft idler roll for the installation at the same time.
DFE has been making and supplying reliable precision idler rolls for customers on an as requested basis for a long time. Now you can order aluminum dead-shaft idler rolls as standard items with short lead times. These precision-machined rolls are manufactured to the highest quality and can be used solo on your press or web machinery or with any stationary shaft, shaft-end tension transducers or UPB transducers including DFE’s model C and THN transducers or UPBH and SUPB type transducers. STANDARD FEATURES OPTIONAL FEATURES The idler rolls include shielded bearings and are available in roll diameters between three and six inches and roll face widths from six inches to 96 inches standard. The roll surface has a fine finish of v32 or better. Custom roll surface finishes are available. Shafts are TGP steel with plain ends. Milled flats or drilling and tapping are optional. The rolls are balanced to G2.5 at 500 RPM unless otherwise specified. DFE has decided to formally offer idler rolls because of the company’s success and experi-ence over the past two decades with its popular Tension Roll® transducer, a dead-shaft idler roll with tension sensors built into each end; and also because DFE has been providing idler rolls informally to customers who have requested them over the years.
