LOW-COST, AUTOMATIC TENSION CONTROLLER Rochester, NH -- Dover Flexo Electronics, Inc. (DFE) announced the release of an updated version of its WebHandlerTM product, a low-cost automatic tension controller, to replace the existing WebHandler. For customers who desire the high-performance of Dover's SteadyWebTM Tension Controller in a low-priced, compact package, the new WebHandler is now available. The WebHandler takes a tension signal from roll-mounted tension transducers in automatic or manual mode and reads out tension on an analog meter. Whether used in unwind, intermediate or rewind zones, the WebHandler can automatically maintain a pre-selected web tension set-point. When the control circuitry senses a change in web tension it sends a compensating signal to a tensioning device such as a pneumatic brake, clutch or a DC drive. Many options are available as add-ons. Mark Breen, DFE's marketing manager, calls the product "a definite improvement over other low-cost, analog tension control devices on the market", and adds, "With its updated, compact design and lower price tag, the new WebHandler represents a greater value to users than its predecessor." Standard features include:
