![]() Tension Control Web Processing Line Open To Visitors (ROCHESTER, NH--March 30,1999) Dover Flexo Electronics, Inc. (DFE), has opened the doors of its R&D Technical Center to customers and interested web processors. As part of the company’s effort to help educate leaders in the materials processing industries to the benefits of properly applied tension, DFE encourages interested parties to come to Rochester for a guided tour of tension control on the company’s new full-scale web machine.
Many of DFE's standard control products (tension transducers, brakes, and automatic tension controllers) are installed throughout the machine, with one controller for every zone. The machine is also outfitted with assorted motors, drives, and a pneumatic web guide. "It’s great to have a fully loaded multi-zone web machine in-house," says Mark Breen, DFE's Marketing Manager. "It’s important for the realistic simulation of a variety of field applications and for demonstrating applied concepts of tension control in all tension zones at the same time." The highlight of a dynamic demonstration on the web machine is a flying rewind splice controlled by the SteadyWeb Splice Controller. One of DFE’s specialty products, this controller coordinates a complete flying splice from a full roll to a fresh core on a machine’s dual motor turret rewind. Product and machine demonstrations are conducted by DFE’s qualified
technical support and applications engineering staff in a friendly, no-pressure
atmosphere. The company invites anyone interested to contact DFE to schedule
a visit, a free training or
