Heavy Duty Under Pillow Block Tension Transducers

Heavy Tension Transducer - Load Cell UPBH tension sensor

Model UPBH Tension Transducer
Tension sensing tool

For those measurement applications with a high load (heavy tension) on the substrate and idler rolls in the web path, the UPBH (and UPBV), used in pairs, is the tension sensing tool needed. These transducers are built to last. Unique parallelogram construction provides strength and reliability. Made of corrosion-resistant stainless steel and aluminum. No hinges, no joints.

Consider using Model C tension transducers (or any other style) mounted on top of UPB transducers for web applications requiring a very wide tension range. UPBs were designed to pick up web tension measurement with heavy loads that can't be accurately handled by normal load transducers.

UPBH (Under Pillow Block Horizontal-force) style transducers are used when the force direction is running predominantly parallel to the mounted transducer's top plate. Two frame sizes.

Model  UPBH Tension Transducers Capabilities

  • Install under any standard pillow block bearing
  • No wear points
  • Corrosion resistant for harsh environments
  • Load ratings from 100 - 5000 lbs.(450 - 22250N)

  • Save Time! Order your Idler Roll with your transducers.

Heavy tension transducer - load cell SUPB measures web tension

Model SUPB Transducer
Accurately measures web tension

The SUPB is a heavy-duty transducer designed to accurately measure web tension in machines having live-shaft idler rolls. One is placed under the pillow block bearing on each end of a roll shaft. The SUPB has no hinges so it is more reliable and stronger than other UPB transducers on the market. It works equally well with both live and dead shaft idlers. The SUPB transducer is designed to measure forces which are mostly perpendicular to the top plate.

Model  SUPB Tension Transducers Capabilities

  • Low maintenance design - lifetime lubricated.
  • Sensitive to loads perpendicular to the top plate.
  • Corrosion-resistant stainless steel and aluminum
    construction.
  • Entire length of top plate is clear for pillow block
    installation only along center line.

Save Time! Order your Idler Roll with your transducers.
